Two games today for the greek league.
Fist one Ofi Crete v. Xanth. Ofi has a great home record with 8-2-4, the 4 defeats being from the top 6 table leaders, while xanthi does have a decent 4-6-4 away. Risky, value bet here would be the draw as xanthi are keen in getting away points on draws (together with ofi are no.1 in away draws in the league), but a few other factors apply here. Ofi had a humiliating defeat in the previous round to table leaders panathinaikos, with a 5-1 score. But Ofi are actually owned by Panathinaikos owner and hence ofi fielded an almost b-team, with a young goalkeeper that gave two goals away literally, and another defender that did just that. Xanthi surprised many punters by putting in a good performance for a team with no real motive over lower place kallithea struggling for points (if only the capping 101 thread was still in existence, esp the topic on teams fighting for points while others being indifferent was still on to demonstrate how faulty that reasoning can be and how other things apply...). Ofi has time and again this season been favoured over other teams at home (aek, iraklis), favoured by the refs that is, sometimes too blatantly, and i like today to be one of these days. Moreover although both teams are not playing for anything (league position, uefa etc.) Ofi will be playing for pride here, in front of home fans who do feel humiliated everytime ofi bow down to hand panathinaikos a few easy points. Weather right now in greece is very hot, esp. in Crete, and i expect the northern Xanthi team to find it also harder to adjust to these conditions of the south. A lot of young players are also going to get some playing experiences by xanthi coach. I am waiting for the latest on the team news for the starting line ups.
Until then OFI AT 1.75 IS A VERY GOOD BET AND I D SUGGEST A 20% COVER ON THE DRAW.
The second game we have panionios uefa contender (a team i faded very profitably the last couple of times around) over already safe in the first division Proodeftiki. Panionios want to secure their spot in the uefa cup, are the better team, and have a few of their better players return. Odds at 1.35 are way too low imo and i d only include them for 1/2 a unit in another 1/2 play parley, if at all.
bol. jack.
